Naracoorte Netball Association is continuing its fundraising efforts to help pay for new courts.
The association has been proactive in trying to promote itself this season, launching an appeal for players and then holding events through the season as part of efforts to raise money for a courts upgrade.
The first event was a “fun”raiser where Erica Hyslop was tied up, gagged and pelted with cream pies in public – with people making donations to inflict the indignities on the hapless but willing association life member.
The next fundraiser will be this Friday, July 13, with a quiz night at the Naracoorte football clubrooms starting at 7.30pm.
With local character Peter Budrikas acting as MC, it will be a fun night with great prizes, auction items and table challenges.
Everyone is welcome – you don’t have to have a link to town netball – and it’s not too late to book a table by phoning Erica on 0400 672 694 or Peter 0458 620 521.
The association continues to have competitive games each Saturday despite less teams participating this season.
The proud association was in some doubt about going ahead at the start of the season with a number of players pulling out from last year.
But enough players nominated to form five teams. However, player numbers are still tight, and more would be very welcome.
Anyone interested in a game can contact Kristy Jones on 0423 538 223.
