A crop walk for growers and agronomists at the Frances site will take place on Tuesday August 14.
Annual ryegrass can be particularly challenging to manage in the high rainfall zone (HRZ) so to address these challenges the GRDC has funded a collaborative project that involves MFMG and others in the HRZ farming systems of the Southern region.
The upcoming crop walk will include an opportunity to hear updates from the researchers about the project as well as treatments and management tactics.
This new two-year GRDC funded project’s title is “Development of local strategies to enable the integrated and profitable management of annual ryegrass seed banks in high rainfall zone farming systems of the Southern Region”.

Two demonstration sites have been established by MFMG in 2018 – one at Frances and one at Millicent.
