The make-up of the KNTFL’s top three hinges on the result of this week’s Lucindale v Mundulla clash in the 18th and last minor round.
Mundulla is third on the ladder, but only just in front of Keith on percentage. Keith should beat Kyby, meaning Mundulla needs to beat Lucindale (fifth) to make sure it holds third spot.
Mundulla has been in great form, winning its last five, while Lucindale has now lost its last two with injuries having an impact, so Mundulla might be favourites to beat the Roos and hang on to third.
Keith is not too far behind Mundulla on percentage though, so if the Crows have a huge win over struggling Kyby, they could conceivably jump ahead of Mundulla and snatch third spot and the double chance.
Bordertown will host Kingston in the clash of the bottom sides, and while one of Bordertown’s two wins came over Kingston in round 7, Kingston will be favourites to win this time around.
Naracoorte will be a handful for Penola, which needs to win to guarantee a top three spot and should do it. The ladder is so close though, that if Penola slips up and loses, it could fall all the way down to fourth, giving top three spots to both Mundulla and Keith if they win their games.
Padthaway will host K/L United in the other game, with United set to finish on top of the ladder and likely to be too strong in this game.
Border Districts have the bye.
