Naracoorte United Soccer club celebrates 50 years | PHOTOS

Naracoorte United held its significant milestone reunion on August 11, celebrating 50 years.

A good crowd was in attendance for the celebration, including some members of the first team from 1968 who graced the field.

The weekend was an incredible chance for some to catch up with friends they haven’t seen for up to 30 years.

The reunion committee consisting of Kev Marshall, Ric Haggett, Rob Thomson, Kashe Bonthuis, Robbie Pratter, Alan Taylor and Willy Hyslop were all blown away with the night as well as the weekend.

Kev said the amount of people who came back to the town and the club who haven't been back in years was phenomenal.

They all looked around the town and the clubrooms and were all impressed at how the club has grown.

On the Sunday Naracoorte played Centrals and unfortunately the results didn't go Naracoorte's way yet the day was still classed as a huge success, with the A grade team playing in replica shirts of the 1968 team.

The reunion committee would like to thank Helloworld, Kincraig Hotel, Naracoorte Hotel, South East Ice, Koonara Wines, DiGiorgio Wines, Hardy Wines, Naracoorte Jets, Peter Day and Dick Bell for all their help to make the weekend celebrations a huge success.
