Naracoorte has dominated the 2018 Limestone Coast Thoroughbred Racing awards.

At a presentation at Mount Gambier Racing Club on August 12, Naracoorte featured in most of the major awards.

Naracoorte trainer Sue Jaensch again was named top trainer for the region, and Naracoorte-based jockey Justin Huxtable was named top apprentice jockey as well as top jockey.

Capping off the awards, the horse of the year title for gallopers performing in the Limestone Coast was won by Iamthekey, trained by Jaensch and part-owned by local racing identity Peter Ludwig.

Bertwhistle, owned by Naracoorte’s Roger Pfitzner and trained by Daryl Dodson at Bordertown, was named overall horse of the year.
