Naracoorte junior hockey player Zoe James has attended the U12 Australian School Hockey Championships as part of the South Australian girls team.
The team was selected from the best u12 girls in the state; they trained over multiple weekends and school holidays in Adelaide to prepare for the trip.
They travelled as a team from Adelaide to Newcastle and spent the week taking part in a round robin style tournament playing each of the other states and territories once.
The highlight was a good win over ACT and a draw against Tasmania and super competitive outings against both NSW and Victoria but narrow losses.
Wednesday was a rest day and all teams travelled to fighter world at Williamstown’s RAAF air base to see the home of the F18s.
It was a great experience and enjoyable for both Zoe and her fellow teammates and capped a year of hard work on the hockey field.
Zoe is the daughter of Derek and Mia James, of Naracoorte.
