All eyes will be on the Bordertown oval when Kaniva/Leeor United take on Mundulla in Saturday's A grade preliminary final.

Kaniva/Leeor United is looking very susceptible to being sent out of the KNT finals in straight sets after being A grade minor premiers.

Coming off a second semi-final loss, the Cougars will face a fit and fired up Mundulla, who have won two finals in a row and still have the pain of last year’s grand final loss driving them.

Kaniva/Leeor were beaten comfortably by Keith last week and will need to recover some confidence quickly, with the added concern of coach Nick Murphy having a knee injury to contend with.

The Cougars left it until late to try something different last week but the move of Cam De Visser up forward could be their trump card.

He has been named to start down back again on Saturday, but could be swung forward if coach and key forward Nick Murphy is marked out of the game like last week. Young Mundulla defender Elliot Jaeschke has been named to start on him.

Whatever they do, the Cougars will have to be at their best to hold off a Mundulla side which has produced a quick, skilful brand of footy to win two finals and could do what Lucindale did from the elimination final last year – win all the way to a premiership.

KLU needs to find a match-up for Mundulla gun forward James Hinge and needs to capitalise on the dominance of ruckman Nathan Bowles, who will much much taller than Mundulla opponents Ben Douglas and Josh Hunt.

KLU have never won a KNTFL premiership, while Mundulla has won nine, but you can bet the Moots won’t be doing KLU any favours when it comes game time.

In the reserves, minor premiers Mundulla will play Naracoorte. Mundulla lost badly last week to Keith, while Naracoorte played quite well to beat Bordertown.

Mundulla will be favourites and will be determined to make it to the grand final to defend the reserves premiership they won last year.

But Naracoorte has a lot of finals experience in this grade and will come out firing in search of yet another grand final appearance.

In the senior colts, Kingston will play Penola for the right to play Kybybolite in the grand final, while Naracoorte will play Padthaway/Lucindale in the junior colts. Their opponent in the grand final will also be Kybybolite.
