John Pilmore has headed off with a second load of donated goods for drought-stricken Pooncarie, NSW.
The Lucindale transport operator left on Wednesday with a full truck load of hay, wheat and groceries donated by Naracoorte, Lucindale and Frances locals.
He was set to join up with a convoy of other trucks bearing donated goods – including two B-doubles and five singles – at Mildura before arriving at Pooncarie on the weekend.
John thanked the donors of this load – Peter Brown and Fairview (hay), Garry Banning (wheat), Woolworths and Foodland (groceries) and Craig Jones and Tom Butler (cash for fuel) – for their generous support.
The trips to Pooncarie and back cost $1200 in fuel alone.

John would be willing to take a third load to Pooncarie, where the residents still need all the help they can get with a long, dry summer ahead, if enough people come forward with donations. He can be contacted on 0427 557 622.
