Lucindale Area School students have once again had a successful show with 30 students being selected from Years 8 – 12 to attend and compete in the Royal Adelaide Show. 2018 has seen our school exhibit angora goats, merino wethers and steers.
Two students were also chosen to participate in the DECD (Department for Education) Ag Learning Centre. For the second year running, we are competing in the school wine competition with eight wine labels entered and our students working closely with DiGiorgio Family Wines to produce a Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Lucindale Area School goat team exhibited six goats supplied by Aanaarden Park Angoras. They received first, second and third in the Adult Wether Goat competition.
Isabella Stock competed in the National Angora Goat and Mohair Fleece Young Judges Competition. Isabella spoke exceptionally well and we are very proud of her efforts.
Katie Fuller placed fourth in the Junior Handlers class and Kate Edmonds won the State Championship for the Angora Goat and Mohair Fleece Young Judges Final.
Kate will now go on to the National Angora Goat and Mohair Fleece Young Judges Competition in Sydney in 2019. We wish Kate all the best at the Nationals.
We exhibited two pens in the schools Merino Wether competition. We have had great success with Cody Clarke awarded second place in the Prime SAMM Young Judges competition. Will Kelsh and Alesha Ludwig placed second and third respectively in the Merino Ram Young Judges competition. Our Merino Wethers were supplied Woolumbool Studs and we thank them for their ongoing support.
