Road construction works are starting up on several streets in Naracoorte this week.
Naracoorte Lucindale Council said construction will take place on Flinders Lane, Pearson Street, Straun Street and Platt Crescent.
Two sections of Flinders Lane and Pearson Street will be reconstructed providing a sealed service of kerbing.
Once completed storm water management on Flinders Lane will be improved and periodic flooding reduced. Parking on Pearson Street will also be improved.
Straun Street, an unmade road currently used to access the Market Square Recreation Area, will be constructed providing a one-way road from MacDonnell Street to Freeling Street.
Works include the construction of additional car parking near the Market Square skate park.
The road infrastructure in Platt Crescent will be upgraded, kerbing installed and storm water management to Jenkins Terrace and Price Avenue improved.
The Naracoorte Lucindale Council, following a call for tenders, awarded the construction works to Metro and Country Civil Pty Ltd.
During construction, Metro and Country Civil will work with residents to maintain access and minimise disruption where possible.
Construction is planned to be completed by the end of December.
