Apsley was well and truly at the weekend with the annual Apsley Alive Festival!
Starting off on Friday October 5 with the Four Person Ambrose Day, 52 players enjoyed the hospitality at The Apsley Golf Club and all had a great day. On Saturday there was plenty of entertainment down at The Recreation Reserve, with a good variety of stalls and entertainment for the children.
Entertainment included the Girl Guides games, putt putt golf, and a sand castle with lots of treasures to be found. The Naracoorte Ukulele Group entertained the crowd, along with the Naracoorte Spinners and Weavers.
The Street Parade was exciting, with a good variety of people participating. The dog jump and dog sprint was also very well received by the crowd, and kept everyone interested. The whip cracking display was a great crowd pleaser, along with the helicopter rides.
The Annual Pavlova Competition was a big hit, with 16 entries. Congratulations to Maggie Mueller who came first and Tammy Nossack who came second. There were also lot of entries in the photo competition.
There was a wild flower tour of our local scrub, and to finish the weekend off there was a cabaret at our local hall. A big thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and all the people that came to the event. With your help we will keep Apsley Alive!
