Emma Phillips is an agriculture teacher at Naracoorte High School, and in her three years there, there have been some incredibly positive changes at the school.
Emma has seen more female students enter the Ag program due to the success of the Marcus Oldham Scholarship; helped lead her team to success at the Royal Adelaide Show and Mount Gambier Show; and is building mutually beneficial partnerships with businesses in the community, such as Teys Australia. These partnerships are helping to open up employment pathways for young people in the region.
Naracoorte High will be offering a Certificate Three in Agriculture this year to give their students additional qualifications in the workforce, and the agricultural facilities are going to be upgraded with a new sheep yard, a new cattle shed, and a modern classroom.
Emma would like to thank the school and the community for all of their support, and is looking forward to more endeavours at Naracoorte High!
