On Thursday November 15 Gather on Gordon will be hosting a Christmas Expo, with finger food, wine, and shopping galore!
Stall holders include Tupperware, Intimo, Enjo, DoTerra Oils, Melaleuca Health & Wellness products, Younique make-up, Chef's Toolbox, Lorraine Lea Linen, homemade soaps and candles, Wild Sage Designs, Terry White Chemmart, Naracoorte Travel n’ Cruise, Jamberry Nails, and SeneGence skincare and makeup.
Wild Game Wines will also be providing tastings of their products.
The idea came from the Naracoorte Show, where the Cartwright Pavilion is always full to the brim with stalls.
“I thought about doing something for Christmas, but then thought, nah, it’s too late this year ,” Gather on Gordon proprietor Tanya Ham said.
“But the girls said, no! It’s not too late! So I checked the calendar, put it in, and it’s snowballed from there.”
Entry is a gold coin donation and there will be a raffle on the night, with proceeds going to the South East Christmas toy run.
“It’s a good way to have people come and see the business (Gather on Gordon), and also give to charity,” Tanya said.
The decision to give to the toy run was influenced by Tanya being a parent, and many other parents being present as stallholders at the Expo.
Family responsibilities is also why the Expo is on a weeknight. Weekends can be exhausting with sport, but on a weekday, one parent can stay at home whilst the other one buys or sells. With a running time of 7pm-9pm, it also won’t be a late night for most people.
Gather on Gordon will be providing catering, and the business’s reputation for excellent cookery has meant that it has been in high demand as an event and function space.
“Very, very busy!” Was Tanya’s reply to how her business has been going since it first opened.
“I consider it an honour and a privilege to be able to be able to be there for major life events such as weddings and funerals, and I’ve been overwhelmed by the support of locals.”
Tanya has been going so well that she’s been able to find another staff member to help out – Maddy Page-Hannaford, who was hired through Axis Employment.
“In her first five weeks she’s been absolutely brilliant,” Tanya said.
Gather on Gordon isn’t a cafe or restaurant, but is perfect for your next function, whether you’re a club, organisation, or simply want to have a get together with friends and family for an occasion.
