The Naracoorte Cub Scout Pack have been working hard to put together bags of necessities for women and teenage girls in vulnerable situations.
Kailey Sneath made a presentation to the cub scouts asking for donations of basic necessities such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, soap, etc, which are then packed into hand bags and distributed through a program called “It’s in the Bag”, run by women’s charity Share the Dignity.
Kailey’s parents Josh and Nerissa have said:
“We are incredibly proud of Kailey and the Cub Scout Pack for their thoughtfulness and generosity, and are very grateful to be able to help women in need.”
Our local Naracoorte Soroptimists International Group act as our local collection point for the bags.
Norma Davis, the current Soroptimists President, says she is thrilled that the Cub Scouts have become involved in this extremely worthwhile cause and helping so many people less fortunate than ourselves.
“It has been a pleasure to help Kailey with her ‘It’s in the Bag’ program. The donations box quickly filled with a variety of items donated from the Cub Pack,” Kimberley Bounds, one of Naracoorte’s Assistant Cub Scout Leaders, said.
“It was an honour to sign off Kailey’s Promise and Law – Service section in her Gold Boomerang.”
If you would like to make a donation or would like more information about this very worthwhile cause, you can look up Share the Dignity on Facebook, or drop in your bag to Karen Fitzgerald at the Naracoorte Lucindale Council Office before the 30th November.
