HomeStart Finance will host a free Home Buyer Seminar in Mount Gambier on Tuesday, November 20.
Figures from the organisation show they have helped more than 400 South East residents into home ownership in the past decade.
The free seminar, which will allow locals to hear from HomeStart and ask questions about the home buying process, will be held at the Mount Gambier City Hall between 6.30pm and 8pm. Registrations are essential and can be made at homestart.com.au/seminars.
Since 2008, the State Government-backed organisation has helped 449 people in the area, including those living in Robe, Mount Gambier, Naracoorte and Kingston SE, buy their own home.
HomeStart head of retail Deborah Dickson said helping those in regional SA into home ownership is a key focus for the organisation.
“We pride ourselves on helping to educate prospective home buyers and make the process of buying a home, from getting a loan to understanding how building inspections work, less daunting,” Ms Dickson said.
“We’re committed to making sure we help those living in regional South Australia and having our team share their insights and answer questions in areas outside of Adelaide, such as Mount Gambier, is something that is important to us.”
Ms Dickson encouraged those looking at buying a home in the region to attend the seminar and said HomeStart looks forward to helping even more locals get a foot on the property ladder in coming years.
It is the second HomeStart Home Buyer Seminar held in Mt Gambier, with almost 60 people attending a seminar in October, 2017.
