Marg Wortley recognised for 20 years of service to the Red Cross

For the past 20 years, Margaret (Marg) Wortley has been working with the Red Cross to make our communities a better place.

She has been a driver with the Red Cross South East Driver Program, which helps people access medical services, and even social outings, when they have limited options.

As well as improving others’ wellbeing and health through being a driver, Marg also volunteers with the TeleREDi program, which is a vital service which involves calling some of the more isolated and vulnerable people during extreme weather events, such as heatwaves.

Marg makes sure that the Red Cross vehicle is serviced and maintained at home, as well as helping the Naracoorte Red Cross with their fundraising activities. As an Administrative Officer for the Red Cross, Marg makes sure that paperwork and trip itineraries are accurate, and then makes sure that this is reflected in the trip sheets and banking deposits.

To quote the Red Cross:

“Margaret is a great asset to her community, she is fabulous with the clients, and takes great pride in what she does.”
