Sharon Hoskin night raises hearty amount

A fundraiser for heart transplant recipient Sharon Hoskin was a great success on Friday night, raising close to $5000.

With Sharon recovering from her successful surgery in Melbourne with husband Chris, their friends Jason and Karla Grigg took over organising the night, which aimed to raise funds to help cover costs during the recovery period.

They Facetimed Sharon and Chris onto a TV at the Naracoorte Football Club so everyone could see them. They were both happy to see everyone and to be able to say thank you for their support.

Auctioneer Richard Harvie very capably ran a well-supported auction before Jason Grigg put up his well-established beard to be shaved (Deb Gill had the honour) and Vince Latsombath had his head shaved by Stacy Wimshurst.

A money donation tin is still at the Caltex servo on Gordon Street for anyone who wants to donate further, and Karla will be selling quilted bags made by Sharon’s mother Geraldine, as well as table runners,  cot quilts, quilts and more at an upcoming market.

The organisers thank everyone from the local community who donated goods or supported the fundraiser:
