As most of us ease into a new year, the Taste Committee and affiliates have been working diligently placing the finishing touches on the fast-approaching 2019 Taste the Limestone Coast Festival.

The festival, which is entering its 17th year, has become a much anticipated fixture of the Limestone Coast February events calendar. But its regularity does not mean the event organisers have allowed the festival to become stale and predictable.

The Taste committee has seen several fresh faces join last year, injecting some new ideas and outlooks for the upcoming festival. This year’s Taste the Limestone Coast Festival will see a total of 21 food and beverage vendors - predominately from the Limestone Coast region, 10 of which have never attended the festival before.

Likewise several of the musicians will be new to the Taste festival, bringing with them some amazing sounds sure to entertain.

Other changes to this year’s event include ticket pricing and packaging changes and the exciting inclusion of a very limited VIP package - which aims to appeal to groups attending the event.

Unchanged is the worthwhile beneficiary of the Taste festival. This year proceeds of the event will go to the Australian Lions Foundation Drought Relief Appeal, assisting those suffering from the devastating impact of drought still ravaging parts of Australia. A cause that resonates deeply with many from the Limestone Coast region.

Lions Club members have been out pounding the pavement selling tickets in the Taste Festival Raffle, the major prize being a “Taste of New Zealand” package, valued at over $2500 and generously donated by Air New Zealand, Anzcro and HelloWorld Naracoorte. Make sure to grab your ticket soon as numbers are limited and have been selling fast.

The overall format of the festival will remain the same and we will see the return of some successful and entertaining events throughout the four days.

The popular and entertaining HelloWorld quiz night will be back, kicking things off on Thursday 7th at the Naracoorte Town Hall. Table bookings are filling up fast so don’t delay if you’re contemplating attending.

The Naracoorte North Kindy will be holding its family friendly Outdoor Movie Night on Friday the 8th with the screening of “Sherlock Gnomes” at the Naracoorte Showgrounds. The evening will also include pre-entertainment, kids activities, food and craft market stalls.

Can’t wait for the evening event? Then get along to Naracoorte Golf Club’s 4-Ball Ambrose beginning at 9am at the Naracoorte Golf Club.

Saturday morning will begin with local business holding a “Sidewalk Sale" before leading into our main event – The 2019 Taste the Limestone Coast Festival at 11.30am at the Naracoorte Town Square where you can spend a fantastic afternoon sampling amazing local food and beverage while being entertained by some talented musicians.

Finishing off the four days of events on Sunday will be the farmers market followed by the MiniJumbuk Naracoorte Cup at the Naracoorte Racing Club.

With all the exciting additions, this year’s festival is not to be missed.
