Furner speed shear attracts many in the region

Approximately 500 spectators and 90 shearers came out to the Furner Community Club last November, for the first speed shear in town since 2005.

The speed shear was organised to fundraise for the Royal Flying Doctors Service and Beyond Blue, with these two organisations being utilised regularly in the local area.

There was $10,000 in prize money up for grabs, and the organisers would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our sponsors – especially major sponsors Landmark Millicent, Harrold Transport, Baker Group, Cop Rice, Luke Clark Contracting, PHHS Millicent, D.R. & K.E. Wells Transport.

Thanks also go to the Millicent Lions Club, Millicent Rotary, and Beachport Lions Club for supporting the event and catering.

After fantastic support of the event, the Furner speed shear committee were pleased to present the Royal Flying Doctors service with a cheque donation for $10,000 and Beyond Blue for $1,000.
