Vandalism at Naracoorte CFS station

Cars used for volunteer training have been left with windows smashed in at the Naracoorte CFS Brigade's base. There are currently no suspects.

In a Facebook post, other actions taken by the vandals were detailed. These included damage to property, and stealing parts from the vehicles. In an interview, Naracoorte CFS Brigade Captain Jim Reekie, stated that a flower pot had also been tipped over.

"It's hard to know who did the damage, there are lots of hazards - cut steel, broken glass, and unstable vehicles," Mr Reekie said.

"We have a duty of care, that's why we have hazard tape there. But it seems that they (the vandals) just ignored it.

"It looks like it may have been kids. It's very disappointing, it has ruined opportunities for CFS volunteers."

The damage occurred at the brigade's station, based in Smith Street, Naracoorte. The vehicles had been donated to the CFS for Road Crash Rescue training purposes.
