The Naracoorte North Kindergarten supported the Taste Festival again this year by holding another successful Open Air Cinema on February 8. It was held at the Naracoorte Showgrounds, with cooler weather not deterring families from coming along and enjoying the activities, games and entertainment available.
Sherlock Gnomes was this year’s feature movie, and it provided plenty of laughs for young and old.
The night was supported by many local service groups and businesses. The CWA made salads, Rotary cooked chips and donuts, and the Girl Guides supported Pam May with face painting.
The pre-movie entertainment was very popular, including ‘Touch a Truck’, which allowed children to get up close and explore local businesses and emergency services vehicles. Mr. Magician worked his magic for the crowd, performing magic tricks and balloon twisting throughout the evening.
A jumping castle, chocolate game, giant games and a giant sandpit also kept the children and parents entertained. Another new feature for the night was a number of market stalls, made up of local home-based businesses.
Thank you to everyone who attended on the evening and supported our fundraising efforts. The Kindergarten proudly contributed $1000 to the Lions in support of this year’s Taste cause, the Drought Appeal.
