The Naracoorte and District Hockey Association held a fundraiser Friday night and the new turf pitch was in action for the first time for official junior and senior matches.

People bid to join the mixed teams, with the top 30 bids in the juniors and top 30 in the seniors making up the 4 teams.

The games were just for fun, with music playing in the background, a chatty commentator and Gavin Boord looking pretty in red.

A good crowd enjoyed the food and bar while the juniors played first, showing great skills and much promise for the future.

The seniors put on a good show with several goals, one from Will Bayley after he was awarded a flick in the seniors match.

The enjoyable evening raised around $3000 for the association.

Many thanks to everyone involved in the night, the organisers, players, spectators and the wonderful ladies in the canteen.

It's a very exciting week for the hockey association this week.
