Michael McGuire was an entertaining guest speaker at Naracoorte Lucindale Business and Tourism Association's annual meeting.
Journalist Mr McGuire spoke on his career and his second book, Flight Risk, a widely acclaimed "airport thriller". A sequel to the novel is set to be released next year.
A small crowd heard that Mr McGuire spent four years living in Naracoorte, playing local sport and being part of the community, and has fond memories of the local area.
He is currently a journalist with the Advertiser but has previously worked in government media in Adelaide and Canberra.
Mr Talbot was re-elected president of the area's peak business and tourism body, with Trace Burgess continuing as executive officer and Angela Leech coming on board as vice-president.
A strong committee has also been elected, and they will be appointed to a variety of sub-committees responsible for different aspects of NLBTA's areas of interest.
Major projects for the group over the next 12 months will include publishing an updated version of the local tourism guide and key involvement in major events such as the Christmas pageant, Naracoorte Caves links and the inaugural Naracoorte World Heritage Festival and Run in November.
