Nurses from Naracoorte Hospital and Nursing Home will gather next month for a reunion that could bring together more than five decades of nursing staff.

What started off a few months ago as a small reunion has grown into the largest gathering of current and former nurses in the region.

The reunion will be held at Gather on Gordon on the afternoon of October 19 and will be an opportunity people to catch up and exchange stories from across the years.

There has been interest from people all over Australia.

"Of course it snowballed, like things do," organiser Dot Ruck said.

"Quite a few are travelling interstate - Queensland and Northern Territory and quite a few are coming back for it," Mrs Ruck said.

"I did also get a lady that rang and she had worked back in 1947 or 1948 or something."

There will be a series of raffle prizes on offer on the day, including a cotton crochet shawl with TV's 'Call the Midwife' pattern. Profits will go to Moreton Bay House.

Anyone interested in attending the reunion can call Dot on 0437 6218 31.
