Naracoorte based band 15Days welcomed a new, young lead singer in August, and the group has wasted no time in booking out gigs across the region.
The band has six members who each have two things in common, they're all locals and they love producing quality music.
New lead singer Sophie Owen has been welcomed with open arms by lead vocalist and guitar player Paul Oster, bass guitarist Scott Marr, drummer Beau Burzacott, lead guitarist Brett Armfield, and keyboard player Kym 'Rattler' Schinckel.
They all farewelled Sarah Shepherd who was their lead singer for the past four years, and although they were sad to see her leave, they are excited for what's to come.
Despite being new to the band, Sophie is no stranger to the spotlight, having performed on the Sound Shell stage as a regular at the annual Christmas Carols. The band describe her voice as powerful and a pleasure to listen to.
The youngest member of the band at just 18 years old, Sophie grew up singing with her mother Simone.
She said she never gave a thought about joining a band, but after Scott heard her sing, she was invited to a band practice where she soon decided to give it a go.
Sophie performed her first gig with the band this month in front of 400 people and handled it like a natural professional.
The band has a few busy months on the horizon, with multiple weddings and a fun day at Brand's Laira Winery this weekend.
Playing from 11am to 4pm at the Burgers and Beats Day as part of the Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations, locals are encouraged to head along and see just how incredibly the band play together.
This event has many enticing things on offer, with free entry, delicious gourmet burgers, timeless wine, beer and soft drinks which are available all afternoon.
15Days is very much looking forward to performing, and is expecting the day to be a fun day out for the entire family.
The band has a varied set list and cover songs from the 70s right through to the latest hits.
They're no strangers to playing in a relaxed acoustic style but can also rock out and get the crowd jumping.
The band has performed at local football clubs, weddings, private parties and had the privilege to front the music at the Taste Festival numerous times.
They're constantly learning new songs and enjoy the challenge of learning new music.
From travelling across the state and performing in the city of Adelaide, 15Days continues to return home and thrives in providing quality local music to the ears of Naracoorte.
