The Naracoorte Junior Golf Championship was held in fine conditions on October 12.

Kingston's Mitchell Angel won the Bob O'Shaughnessy Memorial trophy for best off the stick.

Playing off a handicap of 11, he shot an 87 off the stick to narrowly beat local junior Sam Macleod, who had an 88 off the stick playing off a 9 handicap.

There were seven players in the field and visitors travelled from the Blue Lake, Mount Gambier and Kingston clubs.

Winner of the Jan and Reg Moate Memorial Cup was Arabella Bhutia with a score of 35 stableford points playing off a handicap of 22, with 93 off the stick.

Arabella is participating in the Tier 4 High Performance Talent ID Golf Australia SA Program.

Junior golf continues to be supported strrongly at the Naracoorte club.

During term four of the school year, juniors have a 10am hit off each Sunday, usually an ambrose format for children ranging from the age of 5 upwards, with all interested players welcome.

Golf is usually followed by a sausage sizzle, iceblocks and fun.

A six-week program of Girls My Golf is organised for Saturdays at 2-3pm from now until December 7.

Meet on the putting green, bring your drink bottle, hat and sticks, or sticks can be provided.

Arabella and Susannah Bhutia will be out there to help. Friends of players are welcome.

An SE Futures Junior Golf Clinic will be held at Naracoorte with professional coach Gavin Fontaine at 9am on November 17.
