It might look ready to go, but the Naracoorte swimming lake is not yet ready to swim in.
The lake has been filled ready for the summer swimming season, but the water is currently being treated and Naracoorte Lucindale Council strongly discourages swimming before the official opening.
The council will open the lake this weekend, providing the balance of chemical treatments in the water is correct.
The lake has traditionally not been opened to swimmers until the first day of summer, December 1, however the opening date has been brought forward following a large number of community requests.
As they have for some years, members of the Taskforce 72 Scale Model Ship Association will be using the lake of the weekend of November 23-24 and the lake will be closed to swimmers while this event is on.
The lake will again not be supervised by lifeguards this summer, however security will be patrolling the lake and surrounds on warmer days.
