A local trio raising money for breast cancer research is holding a bootcamp session this Saturday.

Starting at 8.30am at the Naracoorte Football Oval, Naracoorte Health and Fitness Centre's Brett Gould will be taking control of the 60-minute workout.

Ann Aldersey, Justine Drew and Annette Koennecke have been raising funds for the cause and this boot camp is one of the many events they've organised.

Registration is preferred however organisers will accept walk-ins on the day who can pay the $25 in cash.

Participants will not only take part in the bootcamp session, they'll also be treated to a range of hot or cold drinks and a bacon and egg breakfast roll.

So far, the women have raised $11,208 and have a goal of $15,000 before they jet off to Tuscany for their 100km trek.

According the the National Breast Cancer Foundation, without research, about 30,000 lives will be lost to breast cancer by 2030.

"Eight women still lose their life to breast cancer every day. But with your continued support, our researchers are determined to change the breast cancer stats," an NBCF spokesperson said.
