Sunrise congratulates its students

As the end of the year looms, Year 6 and 7 students at Sunrise Christian School prepare for their first year of high school.

At the start of next year, double the amount of students from schools across the state will begin high school as part of the new transition, said to bring more opportunities to young children.

To congratulate not only the Year 6 and 7s, but each student at Sunrise, an awards ceremony was held at the Naracoorte Town Hall on Thursday night.

Each year level teacher highlighted the importance of the students and described each one with a word that describes them best.

'Kind', 'thoughtful', 'forgiving' and 'determined' were just some of the personality traits among the group of students this year.

Parents and friends gathered at the hall where a 2019 school ambassador Oscar McGuire took to the stage for a performance on his guitar.

Academic and sporting trophies were a couple of awards handed out on the night.

With the formalities of school nearly at an end, students are now polishing the final touches to their Christmas musical which will be held on December 12 at 7pm.

Further details on the musical can be found by contacting the school on (08) 8465 6005.
