Big year for St Paul's Anglican Church in 2020

St Paul's Anglican Church congregation is getting ready for next year's 140th birthday celebrations, with events happening throughout 2020.

Firstly, St Paul's will be open on Saturday, February 8 (Taste Festival weekend) from 10am-12 noon with a display of memorabilia and photos in the church.

Valentine's weekend (Sunday, February 16) will be the celebration of weddings, with a wedding display and an opportunity for those who were married at St Paul's to return for a 10am thanksgiving service.

It will also be an opportunity for couples to renew wedding vows, including those who were in the wedding party. Bring along photos and/or wedding/bridesmaid dresses.

This will be followed by a chocolate morning tea, as chocolate is a symbol of love and commitment.

In May, on a date to be confirmed, the celebration will continue with those that were baptised or confirmed at St Paul's and an opportunity for past clergy and/or their families to come back followed by morning tea.

A church service will be at 10am, with the the possibility of a bonfire and involvement from Sunrise Christian School which used Seymour Hall for its chapel services on Fridays.

In June, on a date to be confirmed, there will be a quiz night at Seymour Hall.

On Sunday, October 18, there will be a Blessing of the Fleece service held at a local shearing shed along with pooled lunch. Service will begin at 10am.

The main event of the 140th celebration dinner will be held on Saturday, October 31 at the Naracoorte Football Club. Cost of $40/head including two course sit down meal. More details to come.
