Bushfires cause fresh produce shortage

DAIRY: Customers are reminded there may be shortages in fruit and vegetable products due to the current bushfires.

Many Woolworths shoppers may have noticed these posters pinned on the fridges and dairy section this week.

These notices have now been taken down from the milk fridges, and a Woolworths spokesperson chatted to the Herald to clear up any confusion.

"We have seen no impact to the supply of milk at this stage. We will continue to monitor the bushfire situation closely with our dairy processors who source milk from dairy farmers.

"There's been a couple of dairy farmers across the country not being able to get milk to processors because of road closures, but that's very minimal."

The spokesperson said these posters will remain in the fruit and vegetable section given this notice still applies to these products.
