Top team Kybybolite took on third-placed Millicent in Limestone Coast Women's Football at Kalangadoo on Sunday with the score 11-10 (76) to 1-1 (7).
In hot and humid conditions, and in their first game back since the Christmas break, the Tigers ran out 69 point winners.
The game started out very fast paced and with high intensity, both teams showing that they were very keen to get back into it.
Both teams a little bit rusty with skills early, but by the end of the first quarter the speed had settled and some good passages of play were on show.
Girls were very willing in the contest, throwing bodies in hard and some big tackles and bumps, it was a great game to watch. As the game went on and the humid conditions became a factor, the Tiger girls started to pull away from the Saints. Kyby went into the last break with a handy lead, and with the Millicent girls fading, Kyby finished off well and notched their fifth win of the season.
Best players for Kyby were, Ella Longbottom in a break out game with three goals, Hayley smart, Annabelle Mould, Ella Jones, Lily Gill and first gamer Eloise Adams. Bree Gill also scored with two goals, Della Hannaford with two goals, and Lauren Sandercock, Hayley Smart, Chelsea Dahlenburg and Sophie Hensckhe all with one goal each.
This Sunday, Kyby head to Casterton for Round 6, taking on the home team, with hopes to get their sixth win of the season.
