Investing in Driver Reviver sites

As South Australians travel across the state for weekends and holidays, Driver Reviver sites can make the journey just a bit more bearable and even life-saving.

A new Federal Government initiative is set to invest $8 million over two years to upgrade existing sites and establish new sites across the nation.

Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin said the first round of $3 million in funding would be closing on Friday, May 29.

"This funding is available at a critical time for these reviver sites, which will start opening to the community again as COVID-19 travel restrictions ease," Mr Pasin said.

"Driver Reviver has been operating in Australia for 30 years and community led by hard-working volunteers from many service organisations and community groups, who give up their own time to promote road safety by providing travellers with free beverages, snacks and conversation."
