Mobile phone coverage around the Keilira community will receive a boost with the announcement of an additional tower to deliver better service.
The State Government, Telstra and Kingston District Council have come together to deliver a tower through a $891,700 partnership.
Member for MacKillop Nick McBride said the additional coverage provided a much needed solution to a mobile black spot.
"We have been looking to improve mobile phone coverage for years around Keilira, as it's essential for local Businesses to stay connected and for our emergency services to be responsive," Mr McBride said.
"A reliable mobile phone service makes a significant difference for families, individuals and businesses living and working in remote areas.
"This will improve safety for those in the Keilira area as well as open up new economic opportunities."
Telstra South Australia regional general manager Mark Bolton said mobile connectivity was vital for communities.
"We rely on mobile connectivity more than ever before for making calls and accessing the internet," Mr Bolton said.
"In an emergency having mobile coverage and being able to make a call can make a huge difference for people living in regional areas.
"Telstra is pleased to partner with the State Government and the Kingston District Council to deliver mobile phone coverage for residents in the Limestone Coast.
"Without this partnership project, this new mobile coverage may not have been possible."
