A man and woman will face court today after allegedly breaching COVID-19 directions.

About 3.20am on Tuesday, September 15, a man and woman driving a gold Holden Jackaroo station wagon were stopped by police at Langkoop Road, Koppamurra checkpoint. Both parties were denied entry into the state and were directed to return back to Victoria.

Just before 5am on the same date, patrols spotted the station wagon being driven on a dirt road and followed it onto Wimmera Highway at Hynam. Police indicated for the driver to stop the vehicle.

A 48-year-old man from Padthaway and a 44-year-old woman from Victoria were arrested and charged with failing to comply with a direction under the Emergency Management Act. Both were refused bail and will appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court later today.
