BIG MONTH: Lucy Fogerty from Naracoorte's Big 4 holiday park has experienced a busy month, particularly over the last lot of school holidays.

It has been a big month at Naracoorte's Big 4, with many staying at the holiday park during the most recent school holidays.

Big 4's Lucy Fogerty mentioned to the Herald that the caravan park has been extremely busy over the last month, predicting it will only get busier going forward and adding how she was able to notice various differences in the amount of time people were staying at the park in comparison to previous holidays.

"They were longer stays - usually they stay overnight on the way to somewhere else like the Great Ocean Road, but obviously no one could do that because they cannot come over the border," Ms Fogerty explained. "Instead of having overnights, we had 3 or 4 night stays - people really checked out the area."

Ms Fogerty mentioned how she had received feedback from some key destinations around town, with many of the guests heading to the caves and other local attractions.

"The Visitor Information Centre has been incredibly busy and same with the caves," she continued. "During the July school holidays, the caves were absolutely run off their feet - they thought it was going to happen again over the last lot of holidays and it did which is fantastic."

Ms Fogerty is expecting a busy few months ahead going into summer, with the local swimming lake opening again on Friday November 27 and all the activities in the holiday park in full swing.

"We have got a lot of bookings because people need to book in by October 31 to claim their travel Great State vouchers, and have to travel before December 11 so we are getting a lot of them back," she finished.
