Naracoorte Lucindale Council has announced the appointment of Rebecca Barry as the manager of Naracoorte Regional Livestock Exchange (NRLE).

Council said it was pleased to have Rebecca onboard, with her agricultural skills set to see her flourish in her new role.

"Rebecca comes from an agricultural background with existing management of the family farming enterprise at Apsley, Victoria," council said.

Over the years, she has held professional roles and experience across the agri-business sector in Victoria, South Australia, and New Zealand.

Council believe her previous experiences will allow her to bring a strong skill set and approach to assist in the continued growth and management of the Naracoorte Regional Livestock Exchange.

Chief executive officer Trevor Smart said he was pleased with the appointment after a competitive selection process, with council looking forward to welcoming Rebecca to the team.

Rebecca commenced part-time on last Monday, and will transition to the full-time management role on June 22 to assist in the transition of management of the Naracoorte Regional Livestock Exchange.

She takes over from Richard James who has been with council for 41 years.

"We thank Richard for his service and wish him all the best in his retirement on the July 7," council said.
