The Naracoorte Regional Art Gallery is holding a 'Weaving for beginners' two-day workshop with Master Weaver, Bev Bills on October 2 and 3.

This workshop will focus on teaching how to weave material or a wall hanging for $100 for the entire weekend.

Through this course, you will learn the fundamentals of weaving and using various patterns.

Weaving for Beginners will run for six hours from 10am - 4pm.

Later in the month on October 9 and 10, back by popular demand there will be another Traditional Balinese Carving Workshop on the weekend run by Wayan Dudug.

This workshop is $100 per day, 9am-3.30pm. Contact the gallery as soon as possible to express your interest for the Carving Workshop.

The Beginner's Weaving Workshop will require participants to bring their own 2 shaft, 4 shaft, frame or inkle loom for the course.

Any other accessories such as hooks for threading, sticks, shuttles, blunt end tapestry needles, tape measures and scissors will also be needed. Make sure to also bring your lunch for a snack during the workshop.

Although some yarn will be supplied, feel free to bring other yarn you want to weave with or talk about.

Payment for the Beginner's Workshop will secure placement.
