This year's Naracoorte Carols in the Square has been cancelled due to COVID-19 requirements and restrictions.
Oragnisers noted it was a disappointing result but have stressed they were not able to run the event safely due to the extensive list of SA Health restrictions because of the large number of people expected to attend.
The group is hoping that it will be able to run the Carols in the Square next year if conditions improved around the pandemic.
Organisers have reassured locals there will be more opportunities to sing Christmas carols with one another in person around Naracoorte this year, with local churches still holding special services and festive events which would include carols, as plans to have smaller crowds would work with COVID-19 restrictions.
The events are open to the public and more information will be available over the coming days.
Mount Gambier is also planning an online carols event, which is set to be recorded at the Sir Robert Helpman Theatre - it will be streamed via Facebook on Sunday December 12.
Mount Gambier welcomes everyone throughout the South East to watch their carol event on the Facebook page called: Blue Lake Carols.
Oraganisers of Naracoorte Carols in the Square are looking forward to a special year in 2022.
